Cultural work excursion to Otaru.

Today me and the Skijpan team went to Otaru with the newbies for a cultural/training excursion. It was pretty rad as we got to do sushi making, visit the sake brewery, visit a famous old house, and explore the town and stuff. I probably would have had a more enjoyable time if i wasnt so hungover from last night, and making and eating sushi with raw fish at 10am in the morning is not the best hangover cure!!

 This house belonged to a very successful and wealthy herring fisherman in otaru about 100 years ago. The windows at the front are an obvious modern update to the museum. We were not aloud to take photos inside the house so these are all i have. And as you can see the weather was pretty epic...

Then we went sushi making in this rad old restaurant

Last weekend off for a few months...

A new bar/restaurant opened here on the weekend called 'The Barn'. Its run by some friends of mine that used to run the VERY popular 'Wild Bills' for the last couple of seasons: Brett and Takayo. So theyhad their opening night on the weekend and the food theme is french, so me and amanda had dinner there which was epic. After dinner they opened the doors to the public for Nomi Hodai which means 'All you can drink'.........i dont need to explain the rest, there were a few confirmed sightings of Kevin!

So after waking up spastically hungover, me and the house decided to go for walk to a lake under Mt Youtei. Pretty rad walk but i definitely did not think it would be 15km return, i was hating it!

Mum the magpie killer

Mum emailed me today with a story about how she hit a magpie in her car the other day. She said she hit it and assumed it bounced away off the car and she just forgot about it.

Well turns out thats not what happened! Mums husband Tony (big-T) went into the garage and saw this bad boy hanging out of the front of mums car....

Mum your a bloody ripper!!!
